“Slap ya Mama” chicken and waffles
Ingredients:
For Waffles:
2 cups A/P Flour
2 Tbsps Sugar
2 tsps Baking Soda
1 tsp Baking Powder
1//2 tsp salt
2 cups buttermilk
1/3 cup melted butter
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Turn on the waffle maker to preheat. In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, salt). In another bowl, mix all wet ingredients (buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract). Now add wet ingredients into the dry mix until combined. Cook waffles according to your waffle maker's instructions.
For the Chicken:
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts cut into strips
Box of “Slap ya Mama” fish fry mix.
Slap ya Mama seasoning
Yellow mustard
Directions:
Set up a frying station with two bowls, one for the fry mix and one with the mustard. Also, grab a sheet pan with a wire rack. Line the sheet pan with paper towels. Get a deep pan, add about 1 inch of oil (enough to cover the pieces), and heat to 350 degrees. Take each piece of chicken through the wet and dry stations, then fry, turning a few times. Cook until the internal temperature is 165 degrees. Transport to the wire rack to rest.
For the Syrup:
Ingredients:
2 cups of maple syrup
one lemon and zest
1 Tbsp “Slap ya Mama” hot sauce
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and mix.
